Trinidad and Tobago's 2008 Olympic 4x100 team has been awarded the gold medal for the event, after Jamaican Nesta Carter tested positive for a banned substance.
The medal comes eiight years after the T&T team placed second at the Bird Nest Stadium in Beijing.
Carter was part of the Jamaican team, which included Usain Bolt, which won the 4 ×100 metre race in Beijing.
It was reported last year that a retest of Carter`s `A` sample from the Beijing Games had found traces of a banned stimulant. Carter, 30, ran the first leg for Jamaica`s 4x100m relay team in Beijing, which also included Michael Frater, Asafa Powell and superstar Usain Bolt.
The team took gold in what was then a new world record of 37.10 seconds, ahead of Trinidad and Tobago and Japan.
This brings T&T''s Olympic gold medal tally to three, in addition to Hasely Crawford and Keshorn Walcott.
The new gold medals go to Richard Thompson, who also has a silver medal in the Men's 100 metre race, Marc Burns, Keston Bledman, Emmanuel Callender.
