Police are investigating the third murder in Chaguanas in a week. This one involves an unidentified man whose bullet-riddled body was found on Friday night by coast guard chief petty officers Malcolm Forbes and Maurice Fraser along King Crescent, Orchard Gardens.
Police said Forbes and Fraser had just left the home of a colleague at around 11.40 pm when they saw the body lying face-down on the roadway. They contacted the Chaguanas police, whereupon officers including ASP Sooker, Insp Burnette, Insp Harry, Sgt Toolaram, Sgt Bonnett, PC Burke and PC Martin responded and cordoned off the area.
District medical officer Dr Indarjit Birjha ordered the body removed to the San Fernando mortuary. It is expected to be transferred to the Forensic Science Centre, St James, tomorrow for an autopsy pending identification
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Chaguanas CID at 665-5271 or police station at 665-5271. The body is of an Afro-Trinidadian male estimated to be in his mid-30s, who was dressed in a black T-shirt, black denim pants and rubber slippers.
The murder follows the deaths of Gabriella Sohan, 18, and Christopher Ramsawack, 27, whose burnt bodies were found in Ramsawack’s Honda Civic on Monday night.
Investigators said several people were questioned, including a Cunupia man who was arrested on Thursday night but released on Friday. Investigators said they were still gathering evidence in the case.
