Mayaro police are investigating a double murder after the bodies of two men were found in a burnt house at Stone Bright, Guayguayare this morning.
The dead men were identified as Terrence Ramoutar and Joseph Henry. The duo was said to be in their late mid 30s early 40s.
Police said they received a report around 2 am that a house was on fire at Saltwater Line.
Investigators said they found blood stains outside of the house and are working on the theory that the men may have been murdered and their bodies burnt to conceal evidence.
Police are yet to determine a motive for the murder.
The bodies were removed and sent to the Forensic Science Centre.
Investigating officers on the scene included PC Sarabjit, Sgt Mahabir , Pc Dennis , PC Ali , PC Mahadeo and PC Rampersad of the Mayaro CID.
